The Secondary (Auckland) Gifted Educators (SAGE) was formed  as a non-profit organisation at an inaugural meeting in November 2009 by a network of educators who have been sharing practice and professional development in gifted education with Sonia White, (Gifted Education Advisor 2002 - 2009) once a term for the past 7 years.
Annual Membership of this group costs ONLY NZ$20 per institution and:
 •    may be active through:
       -  attending the once-per-term SAGE Focus group workshops  (costed separately), and/or
       -  sharing practice online through a private interactive website
 •    may be passive through:
       -  receiving a newsletter once per term, keeping you updated about important issues and events related to gifted
       -  membership access to private online interactive website

Membership can be institutional or personal.  Institutional allows multiple membership.

Membership is not limited to the Auckland region & attendance at the workshops is not a prerequisite.

The purposes of this organization are:
 •     Networking:  maintaining contacts with other professionals passionate about gifted   education in secondary schools across Auckland
 •    To provide professional development and mentoring
 •    To share expertise, resources and practice
 •    To support research in this field
 •    To lobby for gifted education
 •    To support secondary school GATE Coordinators new to Gifted Education
 •    To promote Maori and Pasifika gifted education in secondary schools

Street parking available, (the venue asks that we do not use the reserve parking behind the building) and do watch out for tow-away area on the south side of the street after 4pm.

Attendance free to members - gold coin donation for afternoon tea & handouts.
